The beach was so quiet when we visited. Beautiful sandy beach, very clean and not busy at all. Well worth a visit and easy parking with a walk across Saltmarsh to reach the beach. It is about a 10 mi… Full review by WelshVal

Suggest you google "East Lothian Council - re-opening of public toilets" for information. Think some opened 11th July.

Hey! Planning to visit this Monday (26th August) and high tide is 11:30am. Will we be able to walk on the beach at all during the day? Or is it completely swallowed up at high tide? The reviews seem to say you can’t access the “bride to nowhere” during this time but I’m still a bit confused - thanks in advance!

There is still a beach at high water but it’s all much better when the tide is out, the bridge is for crossing a deeper channel so that access to main beach achieved earlier but it is also influenced by the phases of the moon ie spring tides, neap tides or in between, hope this info helps.
Q:
whats the swimming like in the area-any swimming off the rocks?
A:
It is very popular with local surfers. I would think it would be OK for swimming close to shore, but I haven't seen much evidence of it. More likely to be kayaks etc.

Well the car park is very close to the beach..you can easily take a slow wander. This beach tends not to get overly busy, any time of the year, so that helps when someone may be lacking in confidence on their feet or unsure of their footing in any way. The beach stretches for miles, but you can get on to it just by the car park

To whom it may concern, Is it possible to set up a marquee on a grassy patch for 2 nights with access to Belhaven Beach in June? The occasion would would be a birthday party so ideally a semi isolated spot would be desirable rather than a designated camp site. Kind regards Silas

I am really not sure, however, you could call Belhaven golf club, I'm sure the number would be easy enough to find on th web. They might even allow you to use their ground which runs down to the beach. The main beach is part of the John muir trust it is a conservation area with a camp site so I would be surprised if they allow you to camp elsewhere but likewise you need to contact them, as there are heavy fines for camping & crucially having camp fires outside the designated area. The only other part of the beach which is a possiblity is run by the council and is the least attractive part with a car park and backing onto some wooden beach huts which you could rent. There is another beach a little but further up the coast where the local farm has put tree house structures on the beach in the dunes, it would be ideal for a party but may be too hard on the budget - take a look at harvest moon holidays at Tyningham, I think they are on trip advisor too, not sure.
