Not an island of any standard if you’ve been to good islands. Murky water, ultra commercialised by MSC, NOTHING to do other than few basic water sports. Seems to have been chosen because it’s the onl… Full review by Valentina D

I have been on at least 8 cruises, starting when Starlight cruises first came to our shores. I love cruising, love the vibe, the food, the entertainment and just the value for money. However, this la… Full review by OnAir14762485724

Beautiful island and the locals are so friendly. One of the few places in the world that is untamed. Took the most beautiful photos and enjoyed the trip with my sister. Full review by Trip46640451334
Hi. We are going on the April cruise for 4 nights. The reviews sound a bit disappointing. My questions are; 1. We did not book priority boarding so what time can we board? 2. Do we need to carry our own snorkel gear? 3. Is the food really as mediocre as the reviews suggest? 4. Any other tips to make this a pleasant experience as it’s our first time cruising

Hi Dev, we embarked in Durban and flew from Cape Town so we got to the port by 10.30 and proceeded through security and passport control in 30 minutes without priority boarding. Msc offers snorkeling gear so you won't require your own. The food is okay, we booked the late dinner seating. Purchase sufficient drinks vouchers and coffee vouchers if you enjoy coffee. Try not to do the buffet supper it can be chaotic. We booked a spa treatment upfront and had a full time pass to the sauna, steam room and Jacuzzis. It was much more chilled than the pool decks where it can get quite busy. There's plenty to do on the ship so make the most of it. It's a truly memorable journey. PS be open to meeting new people and have fun fun fun
Hi, We are going on the MSC Musica to the Portuguese Island in April 2019. I want to find out about the little boat that take you from the cruise ship to the island. How easy is it to get in and out of the boat, especially on the beach? I'm quite a big person, so am afraid that I won't be able to get in and out and of it :-) Thank you!

Hi Samantha The boat is very easy to get on and off from the boat. There are always people on standby to assist with it. Getting off the small boat is sometimes a little more difficult and one has to walk through some shallow sea water to get to the island. But this depends on when you land - there are 2 boats taking people from the ship to the island which takes a while.
