As the NBA Finals rage on, Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum gave a brief recovery update to his fans. Tatum, who suffered a rupture to his right Achilles tendon during Game 4 against the New York Knicks during the NBA playoffs and underwent surgery to repair it, had a short social media message for fans on June 7.

The Boston Celtics saw their season come to an end in the second round of the playoffs against the New York Knicks. Unfortunately, that series loss also came with Jayson Tatum tearing his Achilles in Game 4.

It's been almost a month since Jayson Tatum tore his Achilles during the 2025 NBA Playoffs. The Boston Celtics star will be sidelined indefinitely and may not play during the 2025-26 season. This is the first serious injury Tatum has ever suffered in his eight-year NBA career.

However, Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix recently named one Celtics player who could be on the outs. Specifically, sharpshooting big Sam Hauser. “Whenever I talk to teams about Boston, they’re almost viewed as a target where they’ve got a little something for everybody.
