The SEC again has half of the top 10 in the AP Top 25 college football poll as Alabama and Georgia rose to No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, and Vandy soared to No. 10.

AP Top 25 Poll entering Week 9
Ten undefeated teams played in Week 8 of the college football season. Six of them remained perfect as four fell victim to their first losses. Memphis, Ole Miss, Miami and Texas Tech all suffered their first losses.
With a big rivalry game on deck, Michigan is back in the college football rankings. The Wolverines returned to the Associated Press Top 25 poll on Sunday, checking in at No. 25 after their 24-7 win over Washington.
On Saturday, Michigan bounced back from a Week 7 loss at USC by defeating Washington 24-7 behind 230 passing yards and two touchdowns from Bryce Underwood, along with three interceptions by the Wolverines ’ defense off Huskies quarterback Demond Williams.
Seven ranked teams lost in Week 8, including two in the top 5, with four of those losses coming to unranked opponents.
The unofficial midway point of the 2025 college football season begins on Saturday with plenty of intriguing matchups in Week 8. Twenty-three of the teams ranked in the latest AP Top 25 poll will be in action this weekend, including five ranked-on-ranked matchups.
We're now halfway through the regular season, and you can probably guess where Penn State falls on our list. Conversely, there have been some nice surprises in the opening seven weeks.
