The deadlock over finalising the next Maharashtra Chief Minister dragged on as caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde cancelled his meetings today as he's unwell, while NCP leader Ajit Pawar headed to Delhi to meet with top BJP leadership over government formation.

According to reports, Shinde was scheduled to attend a Mahayuti leaders meeting to finalise portfolio allocations. He is suffering from a throat infection and fever and did not return to his official residence, Varsha, in Mumbai. Shinde is currently staying in his native village in Satara.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat on, 02 asserted that Mahyuti govt will be formed, because shiv Sena doesn’t have any demand. “Whatever senior leaders will decide, we will accept that,” he further. He said,

I was with Eknath Shinde two days ago. Other leaders and MLAs were also with us. At that moment, Eknath Shinde told us that he would work by remaining out of power. However, we insisted that he should not remain out of power.
