Trump announced Lake, a former news anchor for Fox 10 in Phoenix who recently lost the Arizona Senate race, for the role Wednesday, writing on Truth Social she will “ensure that the American values of Freedom and Liberty are broadcast around the World FAIRLY and ACCURATELY, unlike the lies spread by the Fake News Media.”

The Arizona politician couldn't get herself elected to office, but Trump has a government-funded consolation prize: Being the boss (maybe) of journalists, whom she hates.

Ms. Lake, a former TV news anchor turned right-wing firebrand who has called journalists “monsters,” would be in charge of a federally funded news outlet with a huge global audience.
