The Mariners made major upgrades to the offense with a historic trade deadline as the team prepares for a deep playoff run.

The Arizona Diamondbacks traded slugging third baseman Eugenio Suárez to the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday night, ESPN's Jeff Passan reported. The Mariners later confirmed the deal on social media.

Anthopoulos pulled off all his wheeling and dealing in the 2018-19-20-21 seasons, by acquiring all of these guys: Kevin Gausman, Brad Brach, Adam Duvall (twice), Darren O’Day, Jonny Venters, Mark Melancon, Shane Greene, Chris Martin, Joc Pederson, Stephen Vogt, Orlando Arcia and Jorge Soler.
