The Thunder (0-0) will experience some emotions before the game even starts. In the annual pregame ceremony, the NBA champion will drop their banner and hand out rings. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren will kick off the new NBC era.

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault knows Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's headspace is constantly looking ahead to who he will become. It's how he reached the impressive career milestone last season, including winning the NBA scoring title, a championship, and the Finals MVP.

The OKC Thunder is set to begin the 2025-26 NBA season, which starts on Oct. 21. Expectations will be high for the Thunder. It won its first-ever championship last season and is looking to become the first team to win consecutive titles since Golden State in 2017 and 2018.

Talk about an incredible debut. Edgecombe started and played 42 minutes in Wednesday’s victory over the Celtics. He scored 34 points, shooting 13-for-26 from the field, which included him going 5-for-13 from behind the arc. In addition to his stellar scoring contributions, he chipped in seven rebounds, three assists and one steal.

The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Houston Rockets in double overtime at the Paycom Center in the NBA season opener on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
