Max Verstappen to sit out F1 Mexico GP FP1
Red Bull protege Arvid Lindblad will replace Max Verstappen in Free Practice 1 for Formula 1’s Mexico City Grand Prix. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko confirmed the Formula 2 race winner was going to take part in FP1 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, which Motorsport.com understands Verstappen will temporarily vacate his seat for.
Verstappen headed into the United States Grand Prix 63 points behind Piastri at the top, but with momentum on his side. The reigning world champion has finished ahead of both McLaren drivers in each of the last three full-length races, and if he continues at his current rate, he will take the title fight down to the wire in Abu Dhabi.
