In his first address as the 26th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India ( RBI ), Sanjay Malhotra highlighted the crucial themes of Stability, Trust, and Growth in realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

Sanjay Malhotra has taken charge as the 26th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). An IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, Malhotra’s tenure is set for three years. Earlier, he served as the Revenue Secretary.

In what was his first press conference after assuming office, the Revenue Secretary-turned RBI Governor said the central bank will uphold the principle of stability and continuity in monetary policy.

Sanjay Malhotra, a career civil servant who has mostly kept a low profile, was picked as India's new central bank governor replacing Shaktikanta Das after a six-year stint.

Sanjay Malhotra has officially assumed office as the 26th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), succeeding Shaktikanta Das whose tenure ended on December 10. Maholtra took charge on Wednesday and is all set to make his first public address to the media at 3 pm.
