Former catcher Jesus Montero, who played parts of five MLB seasons with the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners, died at the age of 35, the Yankees confirmed on Sunday.

The former top Yankees prospect, who was dealt by Brian Cashman, died in a motorcycle accident at 35 years old, the team announced on Sunday.

"The Yankees are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jesús Montero. We send our sincerest condolences to his family & loved ones," the Yankees wrote on X.
