The Dallas Cowboys had a defensive coordinator candidate in mind, but the Atlanta Falcons denied their request for an interview.
The Dallas Cowboys just hit a speedbump in their search for a new defensive coordinator, and it happens to involve one of the biggest names on everyone's candidates list.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Falcons sent a request to interview San Francisco 49ers exec Josh Williams for their "President of Football" role. Williams has spent 13 years with the 49ers in various roles. He was a finalist for the Jacksonville Jaguars general manager job in 2024.
The Cowboys have not moved on from Matt Eberflus, but firings by 2 NFL clubs may put very strong defensive coordinator candidates on the open market.
