A grass fire at Red Rock Canyon Open Space is now contained, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD).

Simultaneously, another rescue operation was underway on the opposite side of the canyon involving a climber who had fallen and died, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
