After losing a cornucopia of familiar faces in the early part of free agency this offseason, the San Francisco 49ers might bring one back to shore up their backfield. Raheem Mostert appeared on NFL Network’s “Free Agency Frenzy” on Tuesday and shared that he has spoken not only with running back Christian McCaffrey but with the 49ers as well.

McCaffrey will look to regain his form from 2023 and help led the 49ers back to the playoffs. During that season, he racked up 1,459 yards and 14 touchdowns on 272 carries, averaging 5.4 yards per attempt. He also caught 67 passes for 564 yards and seven more scores through the air.

There was some speculation as the NFL's running back market plummeted that San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey could be the last player at the position to receive substantial money relative to other skill position players.
