The Village at Meridian kicked off the holiday season with a special visit from Santa's reindeer, Comet and Cupid, amidst the Black Friday hustle.

Santa’s reindeer — Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen, and Rudolph — have received clearance to fly to Pennsylvania from Dr. Sarah Coburn, Alaska’s state veterinarian.

Reindeer comes from the Old Norse word hreindyri, which combines hreinn (the Old Norse name for the animal) and dyr ("deer").
