The lockdown was reported around 3 p.m. Wednesday as Austin police rseponded to the area on Sunshine Drive. Details on the incident are limited but a notice sent out by the school ask the public to avoid the area and report anything suspicious to 911.

A lockdown was lifted at McCallum High School Wednesday after a report of a threat at the campus, according to an alert from the city.

McCallum High School was placed "in a hold" for about an hour on Wednesday afternoon while police investigated a bomb threat on the campus, according to an Austin school district spokesperson and McCallum parents.

Austin ISD police say Wednesday's hold at McCallum High School was due to the campus receiving a call from someone threatening to "shoot up and bomb the school".
