NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman is holding a news conference Tuesday afternoon to provide an update on the agency’s plans to build a base on the moon. The briefing is set to begin at 2 p.m. It comes after Isaacman announced in March that he aims to build a $20 billion base.

NASA awarded contracts to space firms including Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin and Astrolab to ​send robotic landers, rovers and drones to ‌support the upcoming lunar exploration missions.

Central to the announcement was Blue Origin’s Blue Moon Mark 1 Endurance lander, which NASA will use for the first official Moon Base mission targeted for launch no earlier than fall 2026.
