The Houston Rockets are expected to express interest in Los Angeles Lakers guard Marcus Smart if he hits free agency.

Although Houston fought back against the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the postseason and came close to overcoming a 3-0 series deficit, they were ultimately eliminated in six games.  It’s unclear if the franchise will make any drastic moves to elevate its roster.

The Houston Rockets began Friday by making an interesting roster move. “The Houston Rockets are trading Dorian Finney-Smith and three second-round picks to the Charlotte Hornets,” Charania reported on X/Twitter.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Marcus Smart has reportedly agreed to a two-year contract to join the Houston Rockets in free agency.

The Rockets reportedly have interest in signing Marcus Smart away from the Lakers if he declines his player option for next season.

The Los Angeles Lakers are said to have a level of interest in former LSU forward Tari Eason of the Houston Rockets.
