It seems the neighbours have finally come to peace as the longstanding saga regarding the ICC Champions Trophy is likely to find a solution soon.

Although Pakistan were awarded the hosting rights of the Champions Trophy in 2021, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had communicated to the ICC last month about the country’s government’s refusal to send its team across the border for the eight-team tournament.

In all likelihood, Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy across three venues next year, and India's matches, along with one semifinal and final, will be played in the UAE.

The semifinal and final of the tournament are also scheduled to take place in Dubai. If at all India gets eliminated, then the semifinal and final will take place in Lahore and Rawalpindi in Pakistan.

The eight-team ODI tournament is set to commence on February 19, with the final slated for March 9. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will serve as the host for the Champions Trophy 2025.

A similar hybrid model was adopted during the men's 50-over Asia Cup last year, when Pakistan hosted the tournament.
