Iga Swiatek survived “one of the weirdest matches” after losing the first six games and recovering to defeat Madison Keys and stay on track to defend her title at the Madrid Open.

Iga Swiatek claimed she was “too stupid” to answer a question after being pulled into a debate about the ATP vs the WTA. The world No. 2 came from a set down to reach the Madrid Open semi-final on Wednesday, where she will face Coco Gauff.

A couple of minutes later, the fear became reality, as Madison Keys served up the first 6-0 set, or bagel, that Świątek has received in almost four years. Not since a match against Daria Kasatkina at Eastbourne in England in June 2021 had she lost a set 6-0.
