Firefighters battling the Palisades fire dealt with hydrants that had little to no water flowing out. By 3 a.m. Wednesday, all hydrants 'went dry,' an LADWP official says.

Three large water tanks in the Pacific Palisades area ran out by early Wednesday morning, officials said, reducing water pressure for fire hydrants at higher elevations.

More than 400 members of the Los Angeles Fire Department have been deployed to fight the Palisades Fire alone, Kristin Crowley, chief of the department, said at a Wednesday morning press conference, noting the blaze was “stretching the capacity of our emergency services to their maximum limits.

The Getty Villa, which is already closed to the public on Tuesdays, was “swiftly closed” to non-emergency staff after the fire started in the morning.
