Police are investigating after human remains were discovered inside of a construction trailer in Southwest Philadelphia Saturday night.

It appears a group of beef bandits made a big “mis-steak” during an attempted cargo heist in South Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.

One person was shot and killed at a park in Southwest Philadelphia Monday night, police said. Police are on the scene at 57th Street and Grays Avenue where the male victim was shot in the head just before 9 p.m., Chief Inspector Scott Small said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Small said.

Police are searching for at least four people who stole nearly 200 pounds of beef — valued at $55,000 — from a cargo truck in South Philadelphia overnight.
