A theatre forced to close after it was left awash with floodwater following Storm Bert is set to reopen its doors. The Mill Arts Centre, in Banbury, had only recently opened its auditorium after flooding in February damaged the stage and floor.

Rail services were also impacted by Storm Bert. Labour MP for Plymouth, Sutton and Devenport Luke Pollard told constitutes via social media there were “no trains to or from” the south west or Wales due to flooding from Storm Bert.

Floods caused by Storm Bert have closed a number of road bridges across a county. Bedford Borough Council said bridges at Harrold, Radwell and Felmersham were impassable. It said the flooded A428 at Turvey Bridge had also been obstructed by a broken-down vehicle.

A train line has reopened after its tracks were flooded following Storm Bert. Northern's services between Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria and Lancaster were expected to be cancelled until Friday due to problems near Ulverston.
