When Kalen DeBoer was introduced as Alabama football’s head coach one year ago, he did not make specific proclamations about his first season.

Caleb Downs was one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2023 recruiting class. The Georgia native ultimately decided to join legendary coach Nick Saban at Alabama. Downs made an immediate impact as a true freshman, collecting 107 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 2 interceptions in 2023.
Alabama is losing its top two tight ends this season C.J. Dippre and Robbie Ouzts. Dippre, a former transfer from Maryland, finished his career with 65 catches for 782 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.
