Daytona Beach's historic Main Street is amping up its dining scene with the opening of this New Orleans-inspired restaurant and bar.

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell, following the terror attack on pedestrians on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street New Year’s Eve, directed city departments to explore solutions focused on safety and the pedestrian experience at Pike Place Market.

The move will better preserve the memorial from the elements and allow the city to move forward with Mardi Gras safety plans in the French Quarter.

The clock has struck midnight, which means that the New Orleans Police Department and the New Orleans mayor would ceremoniously end the revelry of Carnival Season.

French Quarter Task Force member Bob Simms said from a safety standpoint, the city must do something to secure Bourbon Street.
