NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Titans have hired John Fassel as the team’s special teams coordinator. Fassel joins the Titans with 20 seasons of prior NFL experience, including the past five years as special teams coordinator with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in desperate need of cornerback help in 2025 and one NFL insider is predicting that the team will target a Detroit Lions veteran cornerback who is projected to make $41.3 million over three years in a free-agent contract.

Along with Anderson, the Titans are parting ways with passing game coordinator/cornerbacks coach Chris Harris, tight ends coach Justin Outten, special teams assistant Anthony Levine, and defensive assistant Clint McMillan.

Aukerman, 48, began his coaching career in 2000 and entered the NFL ranks as a defensive assistant with the Denver Broncos in 2010. He eventually transitioned to special teams while an assistant with the Jacksonville Jaguars and became the special teams coordinator for the San Diego Chargers in 2016.

Needing to improve special teams after several down seasons from the unit, Miami found Craig Aukerman as the replacement to Danny Crossman.

The New York Jets will surely be a defensive-minded team now that they're helmed by Aaron Glenn, a former Jets first-round cornerback who previously was the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator. As Glenn and the Jets fill out the rest of the coaching staff,

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported on January 28 that the Miami Dolphins hired Craig Aukerman as their special teams coordinator.

It's a hard hire to judge. Based just on Carroll's track record, it should be considered a home run hire. Carroll has a Super Bowl ring, and a college national championship, too. He had a winning record in 11 of his last 12 seasons guiding the Seattle Seahawks. It's hard to find fault with his resume.

As the Super Bowl countdown begins, several eliminated teams are focusing their efforts elsewhere: finding and hiring new coaches.
