An Israeli airstrike targeting a crowded water distribution point in central Gaza killed at least eight Palestinians, most of them children, in another attack deepening the enclave’s humanitarian catastrophe.

Israel’s military said a “technical error” had caused munition to land dozens of meters from its target. The victims were gathered near a water distribution point, health workers said.

Gaza’s Health Ministry says women and children make up more than half of the over 58,000 dead in the war. The ministry doesn’t differentiate between civilians and combatants in its count. View on euro
