AHMEDABAD, India (Reuters) -Officials from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) surveyed the site of Air India plane crash that killed at least 271 people, sources said on Sunday, with families continuing to wait for DNA profiling results to identify charred bodies.

Authorities have started handing over remains of the victims of one of India’s worst aviation disasters after identifying some through DNA tests.

The multi-faith service on Saturday was held at the Siddhashram Shakti Centre in Harrow, north-west London, where Mayor of Harrow Anjana Patel said 20 of the victims had previously worshipped. She also shared that two young girls had lost their father in the crash, just weeks after their mother had died from cancer.
