LG has ended production of its range of Blu-ray players, adding concerns to an already rocky 4K Blu-ray market.

LG, who you'll know mostly for its stellar OLED TVs, has announced that it will discontinue production of its currently available models. The UBK80 and UBK90 4K Blu-ray players were both released in 2018, and LG hasn't released successors for either model in the six years that they have been available; so this hasn't come as too much of a shock.

Following in line with Samsung and Oppo, LG is halting any further production of its Blu-ray players with all current units in stock being the very last in rotation.

The list of manufacturers of UHD Blu-ray players continues to shrink. LG is exiting the market: The manufacturer has already removed the German product pages, while the US pages explicitly state "discontinued".

In a disappointing turn of events, FlatpanelsHD reports that LG has ended production of its Blu-ray player series, which includes the UBK80 and UBK90 models. With limited stock available, prospective buyers should act quickly to secure the last remaining units before they are sold out.
