The Carolina Wildlife Conservation Center is asking for the public's help with locating two badly burned bobcats spotted on the side of Crocker Road in Kings Mountain late Monday afternoon.

The Carolina Conservation Wildlife Center reported the injured animals were seen along Crocker Road in Kings Mountain late Monday afternoon. Rescue staff spent hours searching with headlamps after dark but were unable to locate the bobcats, which are believed to be victims of what local officials are calling the Crowders Mountain-Coyote Fire.

There’s a new concern in the aftermath of a large wildfire on Crowders Mountain as wildlife crews are urgently searching for two bobcats that suffered serious burns. Channel 9′s Ken Lemon learned that those cats need to hunt to live, and an injury from the fire may have made them incapable of hunting.

The Carolina Conservation Wildlife Center said the bobcats were seen near Crocker Road in Kings Mountain on Monday.
