Teel made his major league debut on Friday night for the Chicago White Sox and his former teammate Marcelo Mayer had a nice message for him on Instagram.

The Chicago White Sox have called up another one of their top prospects, catcher Kyle Teel. To make room, they've sent down another young catcher to AAA Charlotte, Korey Lee. Teel will start behind the plate while batting sixth on Friday night in his Major League Baseball debut against the Kansas City Royals.

Mayer’s home run is the lone positive for Boston so far in this game. The Sox trail 8-1 in the sixth inning. The Yankees pounded starter Walker Buehler for seven runs (five earned), seven hits, two homers and two walks in the first two innings.

The Red Sox opened favorites to win the primetime game on Fox that features the Yankees starting southpaw Ryan Yarbrough, but it’s a pick’em at BetMGM as of early Saturday afternoon. Crochet has been utterly dominant for the Red Sox in one of their few bright spots during a disappointing season.

Along with giving Boston an offensive spark, the move would give Kristian Campbell much needed defensive reps in Triple A.
