Fire lines held against gusty winds on Thursday around the Burdoin Fire in the Columbia River Gorge. Fire officials say that, “crews are working to stop fire movement within the unburned ‘fingers' around Catherine and Major creeks, Lyle Snowden Road and Canyon Road, as well as a ‘horseshoe’ on the east end of the fire.”

The Burdoin fire has caused sections of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area to be closed as fire crews work to contain the 10,933-acre blaze.

Cooler weather helped the 870 firefighting personnel assigned to the Burdoin Fire get a small foothold on the Columbia River Gorge wildfire but evacuation levels are expected to remain in place as Gor
