The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a hybrid model for the 2025 Champions Trophy, with Pakistan and Dubai set to co-host the tournament. The decision comes after weeks of discussions and an eventual agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The ICC top brass is likely to finalise the hybrid model modalities for the Champions Trophy during a virtual meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday, it has been learnt.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a hybrid model for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, allowing matches to be hosted in both Pakistan and Dubai. Meanwhile, Pakistan will not travel India for the 2026 T20 World Cup.

The semifinal and final of the tournament are also scheduled to take place in Dubai. If at all India gets eliminated, then the semifinal and final will take place in Lahore and Rawalpindi in Pakistan.

The eight-team ODI tournament is set to commence on February 19, with the final slated for March 9. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will serve as the host for the Champions Trophy 2025.

The PCB has agreed with the CT 2025 terms, with the condition that the Pakistan Cricket Team will not travel to India for the league-stage clash against India, and they will be held in Colombo.

A similar hybrid model was adopted during the men's 50-over Asia Cup last year, when Pakistan hosted the tournament.

The decision to host Champions Trophy 2025 in hybrid model came on Friday (Dec 13) evening through prominent sources as the tournament is finally set to get a green light. On the other hand, the deal also means Pakistan will not travel to India for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
