Virginia State Police are searching for a driver who fled the scene of a crash Monday afternoon on Interstate 495 in Alexandria.

A suspect involved in several hit-and-runs on I-495 on Monday afternoon has been identified, but is still at large following a wild chase through a drainage system under the highway, state police say.

The suspect abandoned the car they were driving and ran across all east and westbound lanes of I-495 before entering a storm drain.
