The Giants are 2-11 — and 8-22 since the start of last season — so it’s certainly possible that co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch will fully clean house. That’s the harsh reality for the third-year regime of general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll.

The Giants will have some important decisions to make coming off another disappointing season, and one former exec has some advice for the floundering club.

While Schoen and Daboll have made their share of mistakes, and own them, Mara’s best play here is to avoid spiraling back into the abyss he’s been in with the hiring and firing of coaches Ben McAdoo (one-plus seasons), Pat Shurmur and Joe Judge (two each) before Daboll was brought in three years ago.

The Giants are 2-10. They have lost seven straight games. They’re 0-6 at home. And they’re starting Drew Lock (rather than fan favorite Tommy DeVito) against a 4-8 Saints team that has already fired its coach.

The bold move, and the right one for NY Giants, is to give this regime another shot at pulling the organization out of this tail spin with conviction.
