The New York State Education Department has announced that it will fight back against threats from the Trump administration to restrict DEI measures in order to gain access to federal funding.

Nationwide more than 500,000 people have RSVP'd to attend one of 1,000 rallies marches or protests organized by grassroots groups. The biggest protest was expected to be in D.C.. By 1 p.m. Eastern, protesters stretched as far as the eye could see along the National Mall and the crowd had been flowing toward the base of the Wahington monument for hours.
