Ukraine struck the Voronin Aviation Plant in Lukhovitsy, a branch of the MiG aircraft manufacturing corporation, on the night of 10-11 July. The attack was carried out by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Unmanned Systems Forces in cooperation with other components of Ukraine's defence forces as part of efforts to reduce Russia's missile and bombing capabilities.
The modernization and repair work on Russia's only aircraft carrier, Admiral Kuznetsov, which has been ongoing since 2017, was suspended some time ago, and the Russian Ministry of Defense may decide not to resume it.
The latest Russian barrage comes amid escalating aerial cross-border attacks by Moscow. June saw a new monthly record for the number of long-range drones and missiles launched into Ukraine -- 5,438 drones and 239 missiles -- according to figures published by the Ukrainian air force.
