The Sullivan-based school district is at least the sixth Maine school district to buck the state’s protections for transgender students.

This week, the Sadie & Harry Davis Foundation announced a grant that will support the nonprofit, nonpartisan journalism of The Maine Monitor for the next two years.

Years of mismanagement drained the county’s finances and led commissioners to seek bonds to refinance debt and keep services running.
