Celtics forward Anton Watson has gone from Boston to New York during his rookie season after being waived by the Celtics earlier this week.

Shortly after the Boston Celtics defeated the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, March 2, the franchise announced they had waived Anton Watson. The 24-year-old forward was the 54th pick in the 2024 NBA draft.Watson signed a two-way contract with the Celtics during the summer.

As a result of their success, the C’s picked up multiple awards for February. Two-way guard JD Davison was named the G League Player of the Month after averaging 28.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.8 steals in six games for the Maine Celtics. Maine coach Tyler Lashbrook was also named the G League Coach of the Month.

Norris on Tuesday officially signed his two-way contract with the Celtics and took part in his first practice with the team. His roster spot was created after second-round pick Anton Watson was waived.
