An Alex Bregman return to the Houston Astros, with whom he's spent his entire professional career to date, is back within the range of possibilities for the free-agent infielder. That's especially the case now that Jose Altuve is reportedly willing to relocate to the outfield to make room for Bregman in a Houston infield that now includes Isaac Paredes and Christian Walker.

The report comes three days after another insider said it’s unlikely a deal between Boston and Bregman will get done. The post MLB insider lists Red Sox as ‘co-favorites’ to sign Alex Bregman along with this AL club appeared first on Boston.

Months later, Bregman remains unsigned, and a resolution with his free agency does not appear any closer. Among the teams that have been linked to Bregman in reports include the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. But the reality is that none of the teams listed are close to signing the All-Star infielder.
