A 15-year-old driver in a stolen truck fleeing Houston police officers crashed into a Galena Park Independent School District bus in east Houston on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The district will pay the Deer Park and Pasadena Police Departments about $500,000 annually to provide armed officers at its elementary school campuses.

Richard Wagner was sworn in as RISD’s new police chief. Chief Wagner previously served as the police chief of Galena Park and has over 30 years of law enforcement experience.
