Iowa football in the NFL: Week 6 recap
It was another week of huge performances for some former Iowa football stars in the NFL. Injuries have cut into seasons for a few former Hawkeyes, like George Kittle, but the ones who have been healthy have been great. And those players made some big-time plays throughout the week six slate of NFL action this past weekend.
The 4-2 Broncos are considered favorites over the 2-4 Giants, but New York has won two of its last three games since switching to rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. Mayfield led Tampa Bay down the field for his fourth game-winning drive of the season, taking down fellow NFC playoff contender Seattle Seahawks to improve to 4-1. On the season, Mayfield has thrown for 1,283 yards while completing 65.1 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and just one interception.
Running back Jahmyr Gibbs turned in his worst fantasy performance of the season in Kansas City, failing to get involved in the passing game as the Lions eventually abandoned any creativity to try to catch up to the Chiefs. On the ground Gibbs had 17 carries for just 65 yards and only caught one of his two targets for no gain.
