Passengers on a Southwest Airlines jet described a jarring drop on a flight from Hollywood Burbank Airport to Las Vegas that injured two flight attendants.
The Southwest flight 1496 to Las Vegas swiftly descended to avoid a midair collision after takeoff from Burbank.
Southwest Airlines said in a statement that two flight attendants are being treated for injuries after the incident.

After departing from Burbank, traffic alerts required a Southwest Airlines flight crew on a Las Vegas-bound plane to "climb and descend to comply with the alerts," according to an airline representative.
Two attendants were hurt on Friday during an emergency maneuver on a Southwest flight departing Hollywood Burbank Airport.
One person on the flight said on social media that some passengers “flew out of their seats and bumped heads on the ceiling.”
"American Airlines Flight 3023 reported a possible landing gear incident during departure from Denver International Airport around 2:45 p.m. local time Saturday, July 26," the FAA said in a statement. "Passengers evacuated on the runway and are being transported to the terminal by bus."
