The Cowboys shocked the NFL world when they acquired George Pickens for near-pennies — and while every analyst and insider had an opinion on when those trade talks actually began, Steelers GM Omar Khan put the conversation to bed.

The Pittsburgh Steelers decided to trade wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys earlier this week. Though the Steelers acquired D.K. Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks earlier this offseason, they give up another talented and productive receiver in Pickens, who had not requested a trade.

The George Pickens trade almost never happened because the Dallas Cowboys were in talks with the Baltimore Ravens to land wide receiver Rashod Bateman.
