HBO Max just got more expensive
For new subscribers, the updated prices go into effect on Tuesday, while existing customers will see the change on their first billing cycle on or after November 20.
Love watching shows like The Pitt and Hacks? It’s about to get more expensive to do so. HBO Max is raising its prices, Warner Bros. Discovery announced on Oct. 21, with the highest-tiered plan costing $2 more per month.
The entry-level, ad-supported plan is now $11 per month (an extra $1) or $110 per year ($10 more). HBO Max Standard will run you an extra $1.50 per month at $18.49 or $15 per year at $185 for the annual plan. As for the HBO Max Premium option, subscribers will now have to pay $23 per month (up by $2) or $230 for an annual plan (an increase of $20).
This marks the second price increase for HBO Max over the last 18 months. The price of the ad-free tier went up in June 2024 to coincide with House of the Dragon season two. However, this is the first price rise for the HBO Max ad-supported tier since it was introduced in May 2021.
