Come this Saturday (October 25), we’ll have finally arrived at the end of the 2024-25 season for Iowa wrestling. (Seriously.) But what’s that, you say – doesn’t the 2025-26 college season begin in less than two weeks?

We'll start with the Iowa Hawkeye men, who are coming off a fourth-place finish at NCAAs behind Penn State, Nebraska and Oklahoma State. Returning to the fold are NCAA finalists Drake Ayala and Michael Caliendo, NCAA All-Americans Patrick Kennedy and Ben Kueter, a budding star in Angelo Ferrari and a quartet of intriguing transfers.

The win sees Iowa also jump to 3-1 in Big Ten play and suddenly within striking distance of some of the top teams in America. The win also sees Iowa climb up the rankings in the latest USA TODAY College Football Re-Rank and into position for a late-season stretch run, something that has become a sort of staple under head coach Kirk Ferentz.
