Lewis Hamilton pledged “I’ll keep trying” after falling one place short of scoring his first podium as a Ferrari driver. The seven-time world champion finished fourth at the Circuit of the Americas, fending off a charging Oscar Piastri on the final lap.
Ferrari F1 team principal Fred Vasseur has declared that Lewis Hamilton ‘is back’ after his performance at the United States Grand Prix. The team returned to the podium in Austin, after executing the perfect strategy with Charles Leclerc at the start of the race on the soft tyres, which allowed him to get ahead of Lando Norris.
Hamilton joked that Vasseur “still wears the same clothes” and is “exactly the same as he was” when they first met 20 years ago. He too welcomes that Vasseur is a “straight shooter” and has laser-focused on finding improvements. “He’s all about car performance.”
The seven-time world champ has rewritten the F1 record books again, but it comes amid his ongoing podium struggles with Ferrari this season.
