When the police confronted Shariful, he said that he was a resident of West Bengal. On probing further, Shariful was unable to give details of his residence and whereabouts in West Bengal.

The Mumbai Police have found 19 fingerprints of Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, the accused in actor Saif Ali Khan stabbing case, from the crime scene and the 12-storey building, Satguru Sharan, sources said.

The actor's attacker is currently in the custody of Mumbai Police for 5 days for interrogation regarding the motive and his nationality.
