Trump announced on Thursday that the US will work with Pakistan to develop its “massive” oil reserves. He even suggested Pakistan may “maybe” sell oil to India in the future.

India is the world’s third-largest consumer of crude oil and depends on imports to meet around 88 per cent of its requirement of the commodity.

Pakistan has long claimed to have large oil deposits along its coast, but no progress has been made to tap those deposits
