Russia said on Monday that everyone should be "very, very careful" about nuclear rhetoric, responding to a statement by U.S. President Donald Trump that he had ordered a repositioning of U.S. nuclear submarines.

US President Donald Trump has said that US nuclear submarines are near Russian territory after earlier saying he would make this move in response to threats from former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov downplayed the strategic significance of Trump’s statement, noting that the presence of US submarines on active duty is routine.
